Hey All, My family and I have settled in. We are enjoying our new city and home. After 5 wonderful years of photography in Memphis, TN I have decided to pick it back up here in Panama City Beach, FL. ....And with that I am inspired to update my website. For that I need models. I am starting with maternity and newborns. This is so exciting for me and for you. All of my models will receive a free session ($125 value) and one digital image of your choice ($75 value). Along with these free things you will also receive the usual online slideshow of all edited images set to music to enjoy for a few months and an online ordering gallery with 25-35 edited images in color and black and white to order from. Typically I shoot maternity sessions between 7-8 months along. I shoot newborn session before 2 weeks of age so please get in touch with me before your little one arrives. God is Awesome, Life is Crazy!!!

I cannot remember a more crazy time in my life, not a terrible time or a sad time, just a really, crazy time. What a comfort to know that even though I may be out of control, God is in control.

This is just an update for all of my sweet Memphis area clients and friends. We are now fully (mostly) moved to Panama City Beach, FL. I never thought I would live in a place so beautiful. Seriously, I can't wait to see your families again when you come down for your family vacations. So far my phone number is the same and I am planning on sending you all magnets so that you can remember me :)

Funny story...I love my family. God has blessed us tremendously and continually reminds me that it is He and not I that is in control. My day yesterday was yet another reminder of just that. And this is how it went...We have been set to close on our new (yet older) house on Dec 30th. We started the day excited at finally being able to get in and start cleaning and making it our own, yet we did not have a close time. So......we waited, and....we waited. Until 1:30 when we found out the title company did not have our insurance. "AHHHHH", got that figured out. and......we waited and again....waited. YAY!!!! WE GOT A CLOSE TIME (4:30). Went to the bank, got the check to take to closing, on the way to closing with all three kids in tow, and.......found out that we had to get some wood rot fixed before we could close on the house! Sigh! Letdown and Seriously at closing you tell us?????
Crazy and frustrating but I have to know that God rules it all. Long story short, they let us close. Our sweet real estate agent got the carpentar out to our house, it was reinspected and we now own a home again (well, the bank owns it for us :)

There's more, we stayed a long time at the house last night to clean, pull up carpet, and get things ready to move in. The kids completly wore themselves out running around like crazy people, jumping on the trampaline, falling in the pool, exploring the new space. We finally made it back to our condo (late), all three kids fell alseep on our five minute trip home. We, being as smart as we are, loaded them onto a luggage cart and pushed them to the elevator and unloaded them into their beds in our 20th floor condo. Life is crazy, God is Good.

I went to bed last night exhausted...and thankful! for my family, my crazy life, my loving husband and my God that is ever in control.

let me correct the record. I haven't been blogging, I've been shooting!! In fact so much so that this post is just going to be my most recent 6 month olds. These sweet babies were all so fun and cooperative. I love 6 months. Who could be happier? They can tripod, roll, drool and put their feet in their mouths. Seriously! What a fun stage for a baby and certainly mom and dad as well. I met two of these sweet things when they were born and it is so amazing to watch them grow. I want to welcome the newest little one. He may just be the newest New England Patriot! Good to see you Miss "C", Miss "B" and Master "S". And thank you mom and dad for letting me capture these sweet moments. I hope you enjoy!

MY NEW NIECE...

I love her! I love her already. Sweet Alyssa was born Monday morning at 33 wks gestestion. She was a whopping 3 pounds 2 ounces and all of 16 3/4 inches long. God has been so good to our family in the past few months and we are so blessed that little Alyssa has been breathing on her own from the very moment she was born. I was excited to meet her at when she was just 2 days old and it would be me if I didn't take my camera. I snapped a few that I will share in a moment. Alyssa will be in the NICU at UAB for a little while. They live in Tuscaloosa so it is quite a drive back and forth daily. Please pray for my sister's family as they go through this wonderful yet difficult time. My clients are fantastic. Thank you!

SENIOR MODELS...

Okay, so it dawned on me that it is almost that time of year again. The middle of February will most certainly soon turn into the middle of May in no time at all and that means senior picture time again. This is one of the most gorgeous times in all of life. To be so grown up and ready to break free but not too much responsibility yet. This is the time to remember, one of the best times in all of your life. It is a moment to capture for sure.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU?????
Just this: I am taking applications for senior models. If you are a junior at one of the following high schools please contact me for an application. If you are chosen you will receive a free senior shoot (1-2 hours of shoot time). You will also receive an online slideshow set to music to share with your family and friends. You will get 25 rep cards to give to friends at your high school and for every friend that books with me you will receive a $50 print credit towards your pictures. LOVE THE NEW YEAR!

I just love it. It's always a little slow in January and February and it gives me time to renew my love of photography as I rest. I've had some fun doing some new things this year already. I ever have those precious newborns...oh my passion for those little miracles never fades!! I've also had some opportunities to shoot with some models. It's been a fantastic experience and really enjoy it so bring it on. If you are a model and need to work on that portfolio please give me a call. As I book for the spring and summer I'm reminded of how fast these days seem to be going. My children are growing by leaps and bounds and these times are precious. Don't let them escape you without the art and memories that photography provides.

I'm now booking for 2010. I am still working on Saturdays in 2010. I'm hoping to add a weekday morning this spring and summer. I love this time of Year. I love to focus on my family and most of all... Christ Jesus. I am so fortunate to have such a lovely Savior that loves me. I do not deserve it but am reminded daily of His love for me. My desire is that my children know beyond the shadow of a doubt that Jesus sacrificed all for them...Oh what a Savior. These sweet children are such blessings. Just look at their faces. Oh is our God so imaginative to create such beautiful faces!!!

Christmas Mini-Sessions

It is the time for Christmas Sessions. My last date to shoot for the year is November 17th with the last ordering date for Christmas being November 30th. (I will fit in newborns whenever and throughout the entire Christmas season.) I am booking fast so email me now or call me to book a time that works for you. I am shooting Thursday sessions at 12:00pm, Saturdays (all day), and some Sunday afternoons.

I have 2 Saturdays set aside for Christmas Mini's. For $100 you will get 15 minutes of shoot time for your children or family. You will see at least 10 edited images in b&w and color. You will receive 1 8x10 and 1 digital print of your choice to use for your Christmas card (to be printed anywhere). These dates are October 10th at Oaklawn Garden in Germantown and November 7th at the Botanic Gardens (you will get in free for your session). You will also be able to order any extra prints you would like.

really??? REALLY!!! Nothing Sweeter than a Daddy and His New Daughter

I already knew this moment having experienced it with my husband and newborn daughter six years ago but I never cease to be awed at the beauty of it. I love to capture the sight of a stong man with his sweet girl. It reminds me of how our awesome God is compared to us and gives me just a glimpse of how He must feel about us. Our God cares about every little thing in our lives and we need Him as a new born babe needs her mom and dad. This little one already has both mom and dad wrapped around her little finger. I can't wait to watch her grow. These are beautiful moments all you mamas out there. They fly by. Enjoy them and pick up your camera so that you can remember them...and as for you baby "L"...you are precious :)

The Kilby Boys

The blue eyes on these boys are just ...amazing! I don't usually see blue eyes like these. Mom and dad in fact have these gorgeous eyes so the boys just don't even stand a chance. This is the second time I've had the privalege of photographing these guys. They are a bundle of energy I wish I could bottle it and sell it(or at least keep some for myself). They are also very respectful which is truly a testiment to mom and dad. Before I share some of my favorite images let me just say thank you Kilby's for the joy of photographing and getting to know your family. I am excited to meet your twin boys when they arrive in October.

PHOTOGRAPHY DOESN'T DEFINE ME...

You know, my children are out of town this week and I have had a lot of time to think, get things done and spend time with my Heavenly Father. I'm feeling refreshed and thought I'd share my thoughts with you. As a mama I am busy all the time making meals, cleaning up, teaching, driving, wiping bottoms, washing clothes...I could go on!!! Do you follow? I know you do because my whole clientel is mamas. I was listening today to one of the most encouraging and challenging Bible teacher I've ever known (Jean Stockdale http://jeanstockdale.typepad.com/jean_stockdale ). She said once that mothering is a holy calling and it certainly is. It is not just a job but a chance to raise a child up to follow the LORD and not the world. Now that is a hard job but a wonderful one. I sometimes forget to sit back and enjoy raising my children because I get caught up in the whining and disobedience and hustle and bustle of it all. I have wonderful children as you do. Their laughs are amazing. It makes my heart smile when they remember their Bible verses or share a toy. I love when they jump in bed with me in the morning or share with me their newest and greatest accomplishments. It's amazing to see them grow and change and mature. OH HOW THE TIME GOES! As Mrs. Jean would say, these guys are my best work and my handprints are all over them. I love taking pictures. I love the memories. I love my family, but most of all I love the Creator of them all...

That's just what it was for baby boy "L". He was as happy as a lark as "mom" nursed him between shots. He slept like a baby (literally) with a full belly. I soooo enjoyed this little guy as he just let me move him around and position him. What a dream...and here are the results...BEAUTIFUL!
